SMS Privacy Policy
Marketing 180 Team Alerts
This policy explains how Marketing 180 handles information collected through Marketing 180 Team Alerts, our internal opt-in text message notification program for employees and contractors. It covers the Program specifically and is in addition to any other privacy policy or employee data policy that applies to you.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.
What we collect
When you enroll in the Program, we collect only what we need to deliver it:
- your name;
- your work email address;
- your mobile phone number; and
- a record of your consent — the date and time you submitted the form, and the consent language you agreed to.
As messages are sent, our messaging platform also records delivery information such as the time a message was sent, whether the carrier accepted it, and any reply you send to the Program (for example STOP or HELP).
Why we collect it
We use this information only to:
- send you the task and ticket notifications you signed up for;
- process your STOP and HELP replies;
- troubleshoot delivery problems; and
- keep a record that you consented, which we are required to maintain.
We do not use it for marketing, we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to monitor your location or activity.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone's marketing purposes. Your mobile number is disclosed only to the service providers that make message delivery possible:
- Our messaging platform provider, which sends the messages on our behalf.
- Mobile carriers, which are necessary to deliver a text message to your device.
These providers act on our instructions and are contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or to protect the rights or safety of Marketing 180 or others.
How long we keep it
We keep your enrollment and consent record for as long as you are enrolled, and afterward for as long as needed to show that consent was properly obtained and honored — generally at least four years, in line with standard telecommunications recordkeeping expectations. If you unsubscribe, we retain the record of your opt-out so we can be certain you are not contacted again.
Your choices
- Not enrolling. The Program is voluntary and is not a condition of employment. If you never enroll, we collect nothing through it.
- Unsubscribing. Reply STOP to any Program message at any time. You will get one confirmation and then no further messages.
- Access, correction, or deletion. Contact us at the details below to see what we hold, correct your number, or ask us to delete your information. We will honor deletion requests except where we are required to keep a consent or opt-out record.
Security
Enrollment information is stored in access-controlled systems and is available only to the Marketing 180 staff who administer the Program. Messages are transmitted over carrier networks, which are not encrypted end to end, so we keep the content of notifications limited — a task or ticket name and a link. Sensitive details stay in the platform behind a login.
Minors
The Program is only available to Marketing 180 employees and contractors and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors through the Program.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the date above. Material changes affecting how we use your mobile information will be communicated to enrolled participants.
